What is via?

What Does via Mean

The first step to analyze in depth the term via that we are now going to study carefully is to discover its etymological origin. In this sense, we can state that this concept comes from Latin, and specifically from the word via, which can be translated as "way".

The concept of road has various uses linked to the place through which it is circulated or moved . The road, in this sense, is a path .
It may be the space that, in cities, allows people and vehicles to circulate and access the buildings that are located on their sides. Below the roads is the infrastructure of public services such as the electricity network, telephone cables or drinking water.
Via can be used as a synonym for street , rúa , passage , avenue , path , promenade or avenue , among other terms, although each one usually has a more specific meaning (an avenue is a very wide street, for example).

Starting from this meaning, we have to emphasize that in Madrid there is a street known as Gran Vía that has become its most international street. The fact that the cultural nucleus of said city is located in it, which takes Calle Alcalá as its starting point and Plaza de España as its end, as it houses the largest number of cinemas and theaters, is what has given rise to be considered as “Madrid's Broadway”.
The roads are cut by the crossing of other roads or by their completion in some physical limit, such as a public garden or a square. It is possible to distinguish between the sidewalk or sidewalk (the place intended for pedestrians) and the road (where vehicles circulate) in the organization of a road.
A track is also the railroad track . In this sense, the track is formed by the succession of metal bars that allow the movement of the wheels of a train, acting as a guide, support and conductor of electrical energy.
In addition to these elements, it must be emphasized that it also has another important series of components such as the catenary, which is the overhead line through which the power supply responsible for powering the locomotives circulates, or the signaling that can be manual. or mechanical, highlighting in the latter case the one that works by means of lights such as traffic lights.
In the same way, we cannot ignore that the concept of track is also widely used in the field of sports. In this sector, the aforementioned word is used to define, for example, in the mountaineering sector, the climbing itinerary that has been prepared to be developed by one of its corresponding professionals.
The conduits through which fluids circulate in living beings, the way to do or obtain something and the state that is chosen for existence are also known as a route: “If our neighbors do not listen to our claims, we will have to act by military means. " , " I have already tried to negotiate with the owner, but we did not reach an agreement: the issue will continue through the courts . "
