What is run away?

What Does run away Mean

Before entering fully into the meaning of the term flee, we are going to proceed to know its etymological origin. In this case, we have to emphasize that it is a word that derives from Latin, specifically from the verb “fugere”, which is synonymous with “escape”.

The verb flee is used to name the action that consists of escaping from something or someone .
For example: “When the thief intercepted us we tried to flee, but he threatened us with a gun and we couldn't do anything” , “I need a vacation! I want to escape from the routine and daily obligations, even for a few days ” , “ As soon as I entered the prison I began to look for a way to escape from the place ” .
A person can flee for multiple reasons. This reaction is usually linked to the desire not to suffer harm, damage or anguish . With this objective, the subject moves away from that or that which disturbs him .

Suppose a young man is the victim of a kidnapping . The boy is captured and locked in a room. At one point, before the carelessness of his captors who leave the door of the room open, he decides to flee: that is, he makes the determination to quickly leave the place to regain freedom . In this case, the flight constitutes a risk since, if it is caught again by the kidnappers, it could suffer even more serious consequences than the confinement.
In other circumstances, running away is the only possible or the most rational decision. If an individual is in a house that is on fire and you can not do anything to put out the fire , the logic indicates you have to run away from that site to be safe .
Finally, moving away from what is harmful is also mentioned as fleeing: “You always have to flee from drugs: an addiction is very difficult to combat” , “I try to flee from violence when resolving a conflict” .
In culture in general, the term that now occupies us has been used on numerous occasions to give titles to different works. This would be the case, for example, of the poetry book "Huir de me", written by David Galán REDRY, which won the second prize EspasaesPoesía and which comes to suggest to the reader that emotions are useful to us to be happy and that happiness , which is not constant, can be found in small moments and elements of routine life.
In the same way, in the cinema we come across different films that have the word we are analyzing in their title. A good example of this is the Spanish comedy "7 reasons to flee", directed by David Torras, Esteve Soler and Gerard Quinto. It is a choral feature film where several are the main characters who come to make it clear that society has much to evolve: a couple about to get married, a real estate agent trying to sell an apartment with the former owner hanging from a lamp , a man run over ...

Lola Dueñas, Emma Suárez, Francesc Orellá, Jordi Sánchez, Alain Hernández, Nuria Gago and Sergi López are some of the actors that make up the cast of this film.
