Public employment has some advantages over private employment, and it is precisely these characteristics that make it especially tempting for many people. With exceptions, the normal thing is that we can keep the position until we retire, something that in the private sector is very rare.
Another of the strengths of public employment is vacations , which tend to be longer than in private: there are cases in which the government grants its officials a month of vacation, days of own business and rest during the holidays, including Easter, Christmas and New Years . It should be noted that teachers cannot choose the season in which they take vacations, for obvious reasons, but then they rest longer than many other professionals.

The schedule of work is usually not as strict in public employment, or the time of arrival and departure are usually quite flexible. The same is true of the minutes allotted for "coffee" and lunch, which generally do not need to be strictly adhered to. These characteristics do not speak highly of the organization, but they reflect the reality of many countries in which rules are created to be followed by only a portion of the people, while others enjoy excessive privilege.
These seemingly tempting freedoms are a double-edged sword. In part they are due to the fact that supervisors do not have the same degree of power as in the private sector, which is why our behavior towards them may be less correct without this having an impact on the termination of our contract, but this also it speaks of less possibilities for development and growth within the company: since our merits also do not receive much attention, there is a lack of incentive that leads to stagnation.
