What Does indigenous Mean
The autochthonous term traveled a long etymological path before reaching Castilian. Its origins are in the Greek word autóchthōn . It then went on to Latin as autochthŏnes , and later to French as autochtone .
Autochthonous is an adjective that can be applied to the living being, to the product or to the place that is original or native to the country in which they are found. The autochthonous, therefore, is typical of a site.
In the field of biology , the idea of autochthonous is linked to the being that originates from the ecosystem in which it lives . An autochthonous being, thanks to evolution, is adapted to the ecosystem in question. For this reason, if an alien being is introduced (not originating from this space), it is possible that an imbalance is generated in said ecosystem.
In the same way, we cannot ignore that Autochthonous is a Greek character. Specifically, it is a figure that the philosopher Plato collects in his work "Critias". There it is established that he is one of the sons of Poseidon and Clito, who had five pairs of twins. It is exactly established that, together with Mneseo, they formed the third pair of twins. That character was in charge of a region of Atlantis.
The adaptation of autochthonous beings to the environment makes it very important for agriculture and livestock to know the properties of animals and plants. The cultivation of an autochthonous species is more likely to develop, and in a simpler way, than the cultivation of non-native plants.
The Lama guanicoe , colloquially known as guanaco , is an indigenous animal of South America . It can be found in regions of Argentina , Chile , Bolivia , Peru and Paraguay .
The typical products of an area are also known as autochthonous. For example: "This is a native cheese that is produced entirely by hand" , "Native beer is a tourist attraction in the city" , "I love the native food of this province . "
In addition to all the above, we must not forget that the term that concerns us comes to be the one used by the Spanish band Ars Amandi, which is part of the folk rock genre, to name one of their record works. Specifically, that's how he gave the name to the eighth album that led them to win numerous awards.
Exactly with that album they received the award for the Revelation Band in 2003, which also served to make a huge tour acting as opening act for the famous group Mago de Oz.
Among the songs that gave shape to that album, some such as "Camino sin fin", "Luck is cast" or "Open the door girl" stood out. The latter was a tribute to the Andalusian rock group Triana.
Paco Moreno, Dani Aller, El Pelusa or Alberto del Río are the members of this band that has managed to become a benchmark for mixing rock with such folkloric elements of Castilian culture such as the Castilian whistle.
