What is I take?

What Does I take Mean

The concept of volume is often used with reference to the segmentation of a written work . A writer can make the decision to divide a book into several parts: each of these parts is known as a tome.

For example : “Next year the third volume of this saga will go on sale” , “My mother gave me the fourth volume of the Universal Encyclopedia of Knowledge” , “Marcos has already read the six volumes of that work” .
Starting from that meaning, we can state that the word tome derives from Latin. Specifically, it comes from the term “tomus”, which was used to define the part or section of a larger work and which was used for the first time in the 1st century. Specifically, it was used in a work by the poet Marcial and later in another by Marco Cornelio Frontón.

However, we must not forget either that this Latin word derives from the Greek "tomos", which is used to refer to a part or cut.
The usual thing is that the idea of volume is linked to an intention of the writer when segmenting their work. In many cases, however, the author's wish coincides with the editor's wish. In this way, the physical divisions of the work coincide with the thematic axes decided by the creator.
Larger works , such as encyclopedias, are those that are usually divided into several volumes. This is because it is impractical, and sometimes even impossible from a binding point of view, to include so much information in a single printed work. The division of the work into volumes, on the other hand, facilitates commercialization: a person can buy one volume per month of the same work until the collection is completed, to name one possibility.
Tomo , finally, is a conjugation of the verb take (which can be understood as a drink or grab): "I appreciate the invitation, but do not drink wine" , "When I go and take the iron, I get an electric shock" , "take for forget the sorrows, my friend ” .
To all the above, it must also be added that tome is also a proper name for a person, specifically for a man. He is of Latin origin and is considered to belong to idealistic, friendly men, very perfectionists in everything they do, sometimes very punctilious, with an enviable strength to face challenges and who reject conflict and violence at all times.
Throughout history there have been different people who have been in charge of popularizing that name, such as the following:

-Tomo Milicevic (1979). He is a Yugoslav musician, especially a guitarist and drummer, who has become known worldwide as a member of the rock band "30 Seconds to Mars."

-Tomo Cesen (1959). He is a Slovenian mountaineer who has achieved great international recognition for having ascended the Alps and the Himalayas alone.
Also, in some countries of the world such as Japan it is also used as a feminine name.
