Hair is called a very thin filament that arises from the skin of humans and various animals, especially in species that belong to the group of mammals. In the case of people, hair is used as a synonym for hair .

The hairs are born in the hair follicles , where their roots are . They are made up of a keratin fiber and grow upwards, such that the stem protrudes from the surface of the epidermis .
It is important to mention that hair is present on most of the surface of the body . It is estimated that an adult has about five million hairs , of which one million of them are in the head area.

Among the functions that hair fulfills, the conservation of body heat stands out . Those that are located on the scalp also provide impact protection , while those that form the eyebrows prevent sweat from the forehead from entering the eyes. The hairs of the eyelashes , meanwhile, take care of the eyes from dust and excess light.
Hair has different characteristics according to each individual. According to melanin , it can be blonde , brown , black , red , gray or white , for example. Regarding its structure, on the other hand, it can be curly , wavy or straight . In addition, the hairs differ according to whether they are oily , dry , mixed or normal .
Beyond its anatomical importance, hair has an aesthetic role . To take care of it and beautify it, a large portion of society usually goes to establishments known as hairdressers , where different experts are in charge of washing, cutting, combing and dyeing it.
But hair care is one of the most expensive tasks on a monetary level, in large part because we must carry it out with great constancy. Hair grows constantly, especially during spring, and this is often counterproductive for treatments that seek to hide gray or change its shape (straightening or curling it, for example).
Another reason for the economic impact of hair care is the price of products that many people believe necessary, such as shampoo, rinse cream, dye, hair blisters and more. But the secret to showing off healthy hair lies in personal hygiene , particularly in the use of a comb and a brush: combing our hair does much more than shaping the hair, since it eliminates hair in the process of loss, removes those that have already been detached and stimulates the blood circulation of the scalp.

Combing our hair is one of the most productive activities to keep hair healthy, especially since it allows it to continue to grow without interruptions. The most appropriate times are before showering, to enhance the effects of the shampoo and prevent it from getting tangled when wet, and to go to sleep.
The temperature of the water is also an important factor in caring for your hair. It is recommended to use cold water in the last rinse to stimulate blood circulation and close the cuticle, thereby increasing its shine. The beginning of the wash, however, should be done with warm water, but never hot, because this can damage the hair.
On the other hand, the shampoo should only be applied to the roots . The correct use consists of activating it in the hands, rubbing them for a few seconds, then passing it over the scalp and letting it act for a couple of minutes before rinsing. Only when we go under the water, the shampoo naturally descends into the rest of the hair and cleanses it, without the need to exert any type of movement with our hands.
