What is costume?

What Does costume Mean

The Latin word trahĕre became tragere and then came to our language as a costume . The concept is often used in reference to an individual's clothing . Depending on the context, it may refer to different specific dresses.

The particular clothing that workers in a certain sector or company wear is called a suit. For example: “I'm going to get my painter's suit and I'm already leaving for the work” , “According to the investigators, the suspect was wearing a firefighter's suit” , “Remember to put on your suit before entering the factory” .
A suit is also a traditional attire of a region : "The members of the Polish club danced with their typical costumes" , "This type of hat is part of the traditional costumes of the European nation" , "The Tyrolean costumes are very colorful" .

Suit, on the other hand, is clothing that is made with the same fabric . In the case of men's clothing, the suit consists of trousers and a jacket or jacket. Typically, men wear suits when they need to dress formally or elegantly: at a business meeting, in an office, at a wedding, etc .: “I have to go get the suit from the dry cleaner since tomorrow he is getting married my sister ” , “ Casino rules state that only men who wear suits and shoes can enter ” .
In the case of the groom's suit, the protocol establishes that this clothing must meet a series of requirements such as the following:

-It must be comfortable, since it will spend many hours with it.

-Must match that of the bride in terms of style.

-It can be a tuxedo if the wedding is to be held at night, but it should never be the option for one that is officiated during the day.

-The morning suit is a very elegant option that can be used as a groom suit for what are day links.

-The suit as such is a perfect outfit for any type of wedding and has the advantage that it allows the groom to later use it after his wedding, combining it with another shirt or tie.
In women's clothing, a dress that has a single piece is called a suit : "I'm going to buy a fitted suit for the party tonight , " "This morning at the office, I soiled my white suit with coffee . "
In addition to all the above, we cannot forget that there is also what is known as a flamenco dress, which is a traditional and typical costume in Spain, more specifically in Andalusia. It is used to dress properly at fairs and pilgrimages and stands out for its color as well as because it allows to highlight the silhouette of the woman. These types of dresses have become so important, equipped with ruffles and various prints, that there are even specific fashion events such as the Flamenco Fashion Show, which is held annually in Seville.

In the field of children's literature there is the story entitled "The Emperor's New Clothes", published in 1837 by Hans Christian Andersen.
