What Does check Mean
In Latin it is where we can find the etymological origin of the term verification that now occupies us. Moreover, we can make it clear that it emanates from the word "verificare", a verb that is the sum of these two clearly differentiated parts: "veritas", which can be translated as "true", and "facere", which acts as a synonym for " make".
Verification is the action of verifying (checking or examining the truth of something). Verification is usually the process that is carried out to check if a certain thing is complying with the expected requirements and standards .
For example: "The works are already finished: now it is necessary for the state authorities to carry out the verification of the facilities" , "Tomorrow I have to take the car to the verification so that we can go out on the road without problems" , "The software it did not pass the verification, which means that it is a pirated copy ” .
The notion of verification is frequent in computing , in law and in the field of science in general. It can be said that verification is an essential step to prove or disprove a theory or a hypothesis .
Thus, for example, within the field of computing, verification is used on many occasions not only at a professional level but also from a user level. In this way, a person who wants to open a new account in Google or who already has one, will run into the fact that they are offered the possibility in two simple steps of being able to bet on the security of that one.
Specifically, this process consists of entering the established password and doing the same with a code that from the aforementioned company is sent to your phone number by SMS. In this way, through both elements, it is achieved that if a hacker manages to discover the password, they will find another security barrier since they will need to know that telephone number to be able to access the account completely.
If a scientist creates a new type of clothing and claims that it can withstand temperatures above 100ºC without damage, they will need to have those clothing tested. In this case, the action to verify will consist of subjecting said clothing to a temperature of more than 100ºC: if the clothing passes the test, the scientist will have demonstrated the validity of his invention and the veracity of his statements.
Verification, however, does not always guarantee the truth , since it can appeal to cause and effect relationships that do not correspond. A man who lives in a city and who wears a red pendant claiming that said amulet prevents lions from attacking him, can postulate as verification of his belief that he was never bitten by these animals. However, the chance of you being attacked by a lion in the city is almost nil, as there are only a few of these animals locked up in zoos. Therefore, the red pendant has nothing to do with repelling lions.
In Mexico there is also what is called vehicle verification. This consists of a series of examinations that every car circulating in the capital must carry out every six months. In this way, what is intended is to verify that they comply with all the requirements related to gas emissions to reduce pollution levels.
