What Does bullying Mean
Bullying is an Anglicism that is not part of the dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE) , but whose use is increasingly common in our language. The concept refers to bullying and all forms of physical, verbal or psychological abuse that occurs between schoolchildren, repeatedly and over time .
The bullying usually take place in the classroom and on the playground of the school . This type of violence generally affects boys and girls between the ages of 12 and 15 , although it can extend to other ages.
When talking about bullying, it must be established that professional experts in the field are very clear about the profiles of the harasser and the harassed. Thus, in the first case, these are the main signs of identity that define him:
• The bully is someone who needs to have dominion over another to feel powerful and thus be recognized.
• Lacks social skills and does not show any kind of capacity for empathy.
• As a general rule, it is someone who usually has problems with violence in their own home.
• Has no capacity for self-criticism and manipulates reality at will.
In the second case, that of the harassed, these we can say are the characteristics that usually identify him:
• He is someone submissive.
• Has low self-esteem and also does not have a confident personality.
• Has a complete inability to defend himself.
• He is a person who is very attached to his family and does not have autonomy.

The aggressor or stalker annoys his victim in different ways, due to the silence or the complicity of the rest of the companions. It is common for the conflict to start with teasing that becomes systematic and can lead to physical attacks or blows.
Cases of bullying reveal an abuse of power . The bully achieves the intimidation of the other boy, who perceives him as stronger, regardless of whether this strength is real or subjective. Little by little, the bullied child begins to experience various psychological consequences to the situation, being afraid of going to school, being withdrawn from his peers, etc.
Bullying has become one of the main concerns that parents have regarding their children. Therefore, it is important that those pay attention to signs that may indicate that their children are being bullied:
• The adolescent has very sudden mood swings.
• He is afraid to go to school and that is why he always makes excuses to miss class.
• There is a significant change in what is school performance.
• He does not say anything about his day to day at the center.
With new technologies, bullying has spread to the home of the victims, in what is known as cyberbullying . Harassers are responsible for harassing through the Internet , with intimidating emails, the dissemination of retouched photographs, defamation on social networks and even the creation of web pages with aggressive content.
