What is brother?

What Does brother Mean

The brothers are humans or animals that share the same parents or one of them. The term comes from the Latin germānus , in turn derived from germ (which translates as "sprout" ).

Take the case of former footballers Diego Milito and Gabriel Milito . They are both brothers, since they have the same parents : Jorge Milito and his wife Mirta . This means that Jorge and Mirta fathered Diego and Gabriel , as well as a daughter: Natalia . Diego , Gabriel and Natalia , therefore, are brothers.

Another example of siblings are Evaluna Montaner , Ricardo Montaner Jr. , Héctor Montaner , Alejandro Montaner and Mauricio Montaner , the children of singer Ricardo Montaner and Marlene Rodríguez Miranda . Several of these brothers share their father's trade, such as Evaluna (solo singer and actress) and Mauricio and Ricardo Jr. (who perform together as the duo Mau and Ricky ).
All children of the same parents, in short, are brothers. When two people have only one parent in common, it is often said that they are half siblings . In this case, a distinction can be made between siblings with a father (they have the same father and a different mother) or siblings with a mother (same mother, different father).
Individuals who share a spiritual father are also called brothers to each other, as are members of a brotherhood or brotherhood . All Catholics, in this framework, are brothers.
The relationships that exist between siblings by blood is very particular, since in most cases it is the first form of friendship that human beings can experience. This happens especially among people who are born with a very short time of difference since as children they have the opportunity to establish an emotional bond while learning their own limits and those of others.
Having a sibling can be very beneficial during upbringing, since it can teach us from a young age that the world is a space to be shared among all living beings, that it does not belong more to some than to others. Children who share their childhood with one or more siblings often develop values such as generosity and compassion early on, although there are exceptions.
There are cases in which siblings can hinder the healthy development of a person. For example, those who physically or psychologically abuse their siblings, usually taking advantage of their age or larger body size, can pose threats as serious as any other or worse. The greatest damage in these abusive relationships is the blood bond that exists between the participants, something very difficult or impossible to break.

In other words, we cannot determine that only children have less enriching upbringings than others, since harmful siblings spoil the benefits they could bestow on their childhood companions; However, in the best of cases the presence of a sibling during the first years of life can offer us a social advantage when it comes to "leaving the nest."
Just like the Milito brothers and the Montaners, there are many cases of brothers who share professions or who work together, whether they are part of a musical group, that they are co-founders of a company or that they dedicate themselves to the same trade, like so many doctors, lawyers and accountants.
In some regions , finally, brother is an appellation that can be used in an informal conversation: “Hello, brother! How are you? I haven't seen you for a long time ” , “ It's not like that, brother, for me the coach made a mistake when putting together the team ” .
