What is bordering?

What Does bordering Mean

From the Latin limitrŏphus , borderline is something bordering or confining . The concept is linked to the notion of limit (a real or imaginary line that separates two territories, countries or lands).

A political-administrative division presents various regions differentiated by limits imposed by man . The territorial borders suppose these limits, which mark the divisions. Contiguous regions are bordering (share boundaries).
For example: Brazil , Uruguay , Chile , Bolivia and Paraguay are neighboring countries of Argentina , since this country shares borders with the aforementioned nations. On the other hand, Argentina is not bordering Ecuador , Colombia or any other country that is not among those mentioned above.

Russia and China are the bordering countries with the largest number of nations : each has fourteen bordering countries. It is important to note that borderline can also refer to other entities beyond countries, such as provinces, cities, etc.
The term is also used to name everything related to limits. In this way, one can speak of a border conflict or border dispute : "Colombia and Ecuador have been involved in a border conflict for decades" , "The president announced the solution of the border dispute . "
Within the field of psychology, we also have to emphasize that the term that we are now analyzing is used. Specifically, there is what has been called borderline personality disorder (BPD).
