Definition of Boredom

Boredom could easily be defined as a typical human state of mind that has to do with a lack of interest or passion for what surrounds the individual in particular. During boredom, the person who suffers from it does not have fun or enjoy anything.

State of mind of a person characterized by lack of interest and reluctance
Boredom can be a temporary state of mind that takes place in certain situations, easily identifiable in most cases, but in many cases, the permanent boredom that a person may suffer has to do with a state of greater reluctance and possibly depression . In the latter case, the person who suffers nothing, at no time of the day, is interested or entertained.
Due to the ability of human beings to develop interest, passion and enthusiasm for countless situations, objects, phenomena or relationships, we must also recognize the lack of such feelings . This lack of interest, passion and enthusiasm leads to boredom, which is nothing more than a feeling of reluctance, disgust, lack of energy .

Causes and examples
Boredom can be generated by internal and particular elements of each individual (such as the inability to find situations or activities that are exciting), as well as by elements or phenomena external to the individual. Here we must mention the lack of stimuli and incentives that a particular society can generate, as well as the presence of different substances that cause boredom to ensue after a period of ecstasy.
Basically boredom produces in those who feel it apathy, lack of enthusiasm, passivity, and the absence of joy and for example it is easy to recognize if these "symptoms" are recognized.
No one is exempt in life from suffering from it, or surely they have already experienced it on several different occasions, such as participatingof a conversation or encounter that is not interesting, being in a place that does not propose anything entertaining to do, being spectators of a show that does not move or amuse us, enduring for a long time some uncomfortable situation or that takes us out of the realization of our daily activities; For example, when we get sick and the doctor tells us to rest for several weeks to recover, it is common for boredom to appear at some point, because of course, we have nothing more to do than lie in bed and our activities can be reduced to watching Teavee, read, but not much else. For some people that is really boring.
Link with creativity
We must emphasize that there are people who are much more prone to boredom than others and we must also say that in many cases boredom goes hand in hand with creativity because it is precisely during this state of mind that many people bring out their inventiveness and imagination to face boredom and end up producing great creations that take them out of this state.
The one just mentioned is a very positive alternative when it comes to fighting boredom. However, there are others that are not and that can lead to absolutely destructive behaviors towards the material goods of a place or towards oneself.
The destructiveness of boredom
We can graph the first case through those children who have a tendency to get bored, and then, instead of looking for some activity that takes them out of that state, they begin to break their toys or damage their house; and when we refer to destructive behaviors against ourselves we refer to drug use to escape boredom and have fun. There is an erratic idea, of course, that drugs and alcohol keep boredom away.
The feeling of boredom is characteristic of our time since in it a large part of the population is constantly subjected to endless data, information and images that happen in a dizzying way in front of one. This means that the presence or development of activities that involve time, patience, perseverance or commitment can sound to many like boring, heavy and uninteresting activities. This situation is especially visible in adolescents and boys who tend to show permanent boredom in the face of situations or people that they consider alien or uninteresting.
