Burglary - Definition, Concept and What it is

The noun raid is used in three different senses : as the process through which the inequalities of a terrain are eliminated, as a synonym for overcoming some inconvenience or difficulty and, finally, as a term typical of the legal vocabulary.

Paving the way in a real and figurative sense
A road, a path or a path must be prepared so that it is possible to travel on them. Thus, an abrupt place can be transformed into a passable place as long as the ground is leveled, which is equivalent to flattening it. This type of activity has historically been carried out in a very rudimentary way and basically the compaction of the land was done using stone, wood or iron cylinders . At present, the leveling of a land is carried out with hydraulic suspension machinery.
In a figurative sense, someone is said to pave a way when they allow other people to do something. Thus, if a person goes through a series of administrative steps to do a friend a favor , they are paving the way.

The breaking and entering
When someone enters a foreign home and without the consent of the owner, they may be committing a crime, specifically the crime of trespassing. From a legal point of view, the home is a place that must be specially protected and, in fact, in most countries the home is inviolable unless there is the express authorization of a judge .
In all countries the crime of trespassing is contemplated in the criminal code , which can be understood in two ways: entering the home of another person without their consent or living in a foreign home without the authorization of the rightful owner.
The crime of breaking and entering is usually related to theft, but it also occurs in other circumstances. Thus, it is quite common in cases of separation of a couple (one of the members of the couple does not return the keys to the home and decides to enter it for some reason ). It also occurs relatively frequently in those cases in which a group of people decides to occupy an empty home due to lack of housing or in relation to the so-called squatting movement .
The break-in in the squatter movement
A squatter is not a thief but rather an individual, generally of an anarchist ideology , who considers it legitimate to occupy an empty house. The squatter takes possession of a building or a home because he understands that his action is fair and reasonable, since he needs a place to live and the rightful owner is not using said place. From a legal point of view, the squatter is not committing a crime of trespassing, but his crime has another name, occupation of real estate.
